Located in Tai Po, this project for Hong Chi Association includes new boarding hostels with 120 places at Pinehill Village for students with intellectual disabilities, as well as staff and caretakers. With the aspects of accessibility and sustainability at heart, new lift systems have been well planned so all users can easily access all parts of the buildings, and the feature of terracing design is also introduced. Apart from allowing natural ventilation and outdoor access for students at each level, this design acts as a viewing patio for users to enjoy the rich vegetation and expansive greenery around the hostel. With the advantage of facing southeast, students and staff can embrace the morning sun and bright daylight each day.
