Technical Feasibility Study for the Development on a Site in Tai Chung Hau, Sai Kung by the Chinese Young Men’s Christian Association of Hong Kong under the Special Scheme on Privately Owned Sites for Welfare Uses
The project involves the construction of a new building for Chinese Young Men’s Christian Association of Hong Kong (hereafter refer as ‘CYMCA’) at Pak Sha Wan, Sai Kung and comprises of Construction of a new 6-storey building block providing a 250-place Residential Care and Attention Home for the Elderly with 176 subvented place at 2/F to 4/F and 74 self-financed place at 1/F; a 60-place subvented Day Care Centre for the Elderly at Ground Floor including physiotherapist and training room and a self-financed Hydro-therapy Center for elderly persons at Ground Floor. The Hydro-therapy Center will be operated on a self-financing basis with both the construction cost and recurrent cost to be borne by CYMCA.
The site is adjoining the coastal protection zone of Sai Kung area with valuable trees in a rural context. Great emphasis is put on its design to reduce its visual and environmental impact to the surroundings and neighbourhood. The project is target for BEAM Plus New Building – Gold rating and the Complex is planned to be in operation from Q4 2027.
